Along with pizza, we seem to also be experiencing a bit of a hot dog renaissance. Maybe it's just the start of summer that' s jump-started the craze, or the recession (they're cheap!) or a combo of both. Evidently, American diplomats have been using dogs as bridges of diplomacy for years and years.
This week sees the unveiling of Super Dog on MacDougal street-- entirely wallpapered with a comic strip featuring hot dog superhero. They're sure to tide over all the folks waiting for tables at Minetta Lane, right? And since today is Tuesday I should probably mention AsiaDog, a weekly event at Trophy Bar in Williamsburg-- expect kimchi and Thai mango salad instead of relish and onions.
I should make it clear that I absolutely love hot dogs. Love them. But for the record- I like 'em plain.
