the perfect staycation spot
Sometimes I wish I didn't live in New York, so that I could come and visit and stay in a neat hotel.
A visit to the newly opened Ace Hotel on Broadway at 29th street nearly made me whip out my credit card and check in. Further investigation shows that this is truly a special spot- if you have out-of-towners coming to visit, send them here. It's a great location, and the rooms look dreamy. Unofortch there aren't any shots of my favorite detail- as you climb the steps from the restrooms on the basement level, leading up to the lobby, you see the words " Everything will be alright" on the riser of one of the steps. Such a subtle detail, so cleverly hidden. Sweet and charming- and stylish. And yes-- I think everything WILL be alright. Nicely put. HotelChatter has a neat Flickr slideshow of pics from their stay- looks like they got a sweet suite.
Amenities like Stumptown coffee, a cool photo booth in the lobby and an upcoming Ken Friedman resto pretty much guarantee this is going to be a neat hangout. Plus- some rooms have bunk beds!
